Third Go at Te Kooti Road

Submitted by Dave on

Again, the main culling is done for the year but we have been taking a couple of birds at a time to clean up an old block, have a bit of fun, and, most importantly, get some more peacock pelts. Jarno and I went on dark and heard a few birds calling. We went exactly where they were, found them in the monocular thermal, set up the shooting stick, then shot three big peacocks with the thermal scope on the suppressed .22. They were all in different places of course but you get the picture. We took four easy hens too. It was drizzling at dark and got heavier so we went home after an hour and a half. I got got two good pelts and plenty of meat.
