I took a little break since our last big trip away as I had some other work to do and catch up around the house and yard. The same crew headed back to Swami's to finish the job. We covered the whole place noting birds roosting on the next property. Not many got away unharmed this time. We even shot a goat for the Fijian's staying at Swami's. I got ready for sleep at 0530 the next morning.
Hare meat is amazing. I butchered the three we got plus the one from the night before with Kayden. I even got seven out of eight front legs off as they were all head-shot. I made a curry in the crock pot and man was it good. The backstraps were vacuum packed away for another day. They are as good as any eye fillet from a deer. Then I minced the hind leg meat along with most of the bird breasts.
While processing feathers I decided to take mostly loose feathers this time. I did pelt a hen and half albino blue head as they were novelties. I also pelted two of the hares as the last hare pelt I had had just sold.
It is Sunday now so all I have left are wings and tails to process. Then I will clean up, feed some pigs then thinking about packing some orders before the day ends...
