Dobs picked me up around 0430 and we were looking for workups by 0500. We started trolling but soon changed to chasing workups with top water gear. It is a lot of fun cruising up to the diving birds and dolphins and trying our luck. After a while Dobs decided to leave the dolphins and hope to find tuna workups. We found plenty with tuna jumping all over the place. By the time we got there they usually had already gone down. You need to be Jonny on the spot as Dobs said. We did cast into one tuna workout and we both had strikes but did not hook up. It is exactly like casting a fly to a rising fish and trying to get the reaction strike by stripping a streamer by. We went back to trolling when things got quiet and picked up a 25 kg yellowfin. It was funny because we hooked it in an area where the water was thick with an algal bloom. It had large pilchards in its belly. Sushimi for the next couple of days...
