Willow Grub Nymph

Well these guys form leaf galls on willow leaves. The larvae bore out then fall to the ground to pupate into a sawfly. As you know, many land in the water and the trout are waiting. I tend to disagree with the experts on the tiny sizes required. In my experience a little bigger than the natural gets their attention. This also looks like a caddis nymph; try one nymphing and you will see what I mean.
