Red Damsel Dry Fly

Damsel adults are everywhere during summer. The trout tend to jump after them for sport it seems. The nymphs make a huge part of their diets around lake edges, still waters and even swampy areas on the margins. Even when there are many adults around, nymphs are still emerging and the trout tend to focus on them as easy targets. The adults are definitely eaten too as you probably have seen. One day last summer there were damsel adults everywhere. Suddenly a strong northerly came up and the damsels were hammered onto the water. The trout went crazy and luckily I had a couple of damsel dry flies on me.
