At Feathergirl we are very proud to provide a high quality product at a very reasonable price. We are always increasing our product range and we welcome requests from you. If there is something you would like that we don't have listed, please just contact us and tell us how we may help you.
We store our feathers in a naturally controlled, pest free environment to ensure that there is no damage to the feather other than what occurs in the wild. We sort our feathers by hand when we get them and again when we pack them, sending you only the best we can offer.

If you are serious about feathers we suggest you buy our Feather Sampler. The Feather Sampler contains examples of our loose feather range.
By having the sampler you will see each of the feathers before you buy them so you buy only the feathers you actually want. The book contains samples of 32 different feather categories, some with multiple feathers.
For a purchase price of $20 you will receive the Sampler and a $10 credit towards your next purchase.
Our loose feathers are all sold in $10 lots; for $10 pack you will get one of the listings below. In our shop you can select multiple packs of the same, or different packs of feathers.
50 Beautiful Blue These feathers are bright and beautiful!
Most have a sea green colour at the base, graduating to deep blue tips; others are blue from bottom to top. Measurements: 40 to 80mm Go to Shop
100 Beige and Chocolate These feathers have a beige base and most have chocolate highlights; from a touch of chocolate through to dominant stripes.
15 Black and Paua - These feathers all have a square tip and range from dark chocolate brown to black.
They have an iridescent band which can be described as 'Paua meets Mother of Pearl'. The effect of the colour change as the feather moves through the light is spectacular.
50 Cafe au lait These feathers are cafe au lait in colour with hints of chocolate brown. They have a flexible rachis (stem) which is perfect for weaving. Some of the feathers splay and have wispy tips; all of them are beautiful. Measurements: 60 to 100mm Go to Shop
100 Chocolate and Tan Spears These feathers have a chocolate base with tan and caramel highlights.
50 Chocolate Brown Spears The feathers have a fawn base with chocolate brown detailing and a metallic pink/purple sheen. When they move through the light the colour change is beautiful.
100+ Chocolate to Caramel These feathers cover all the browns. There are three main types of feather, each with a different pattern and color combination.
In your pack you will receive a reasonably even mix of the three - or you can choose which you would like the most of.
50 Copper and Blue The feathers have a copper base with a slight apricot sheen and a deep blue metallic tip. When they move through the light the colour change is extraordinary.

100+ Cream These feathers are long, slender and gorgeous to work with! They are cream in many shades. While most are are light cream, there are others that have a more intense cafe au lait colour with hints of earth brown. They have a flexible rachis (stem) which is perfect for weaving.
50 Emerald Green These feathers are long, glowing, floating and gorgeous to work with! The feathers are green with hints of deep blue and with a slight sheen to them, highlighted by direct light. They have a flexible rachis (stem) which is perfect for weaving. Measurements: 50 to 90mm
These feathers are soft, floating and the perfect example of the phrase, "Floats like a feather".
The feathers are mainly black to earth brown but some are beige or cream tipped and others have hints of green. They are perfect for dying and are often used in fly tying.
100+ Mixed Small Feathers These feathers are the small versions of almost every loose feather we sell. They range in size from 2cm to 4cm in length. We fill an A5 courier pack with them so there are most likely more than the 500 we estimate.

100+ Natural White Tip These peafowl feathers have a gorgeous and unique white tip. The feathers all have a neutral base and some have green highlights - but the best part is the white tip. They look wonderful grouped together and have a strong but flexible stem. Measurements: 40 to 80mm Go to Shop
100 Olive and Bronze The feathers have an olive base with bronze markings and tips.
100+ Shades of Green The feathers all have a green base and most have a metallic quality which shines under natural and artificial light. When placed in groups the effect is quite stunning
50 Shimmering Green These feathers have dark stripes as a back ground for a glorious green shimmer.
The feathers look amazing when they are moving; every angle highlights a different colour in the feather and they look really good when they are grouped together.
50 Striped ~ Long The feathers have a white base with a very dark brown stripe through them. Most have either green or blue highlights depending on the viewing angle.
50 Tiny Blue Crest Feathers These feathers are the smallest of our blue feathers. The colour changes depending on the viewing angle; graduating from deep blue to light blue.
Each feather is hand picked to ensure the product you get is as you have bought.

How to dye feathers:
Dyeing Feathers Using Dylon Multi-Purpose Dye
Coloured feathers are ideal for decorating almost anything from the latest clothes and accessories to homes and gifts. Just follow the simple instructions below to create your own!
You will need: · Feathers · Dylon Multi-Purpose Dye · 250ml Vinegar · Rubber Gloves
Instructions:
Wash feathers in warm soapy water; handle gently. Dissolve 1 tin of dye in 500ml boiling water. Fill container with enough boiling water to cover feathers (container may stain). Add dye solution and vinegar. Add feathers and gently agitate until they are one shade darker than required. For lighter shades this may only take a few seconds, for darker shades a few minutes. Rinse in water, shaking gently. Lay on kitchen roll to dry. Re-shape whilst damp.
